Sunday evening I was on my way home from the student center with Roddy bear in the passenger seat of my little T-bird. It's dark and it's raining, but I'm used to dreary weather, so it's not bothering me, especially with Rod there to talk to and keep me company. All of a sudden, this little 8pt buck comes down the hill on my left and runs right into my car. He smashes the right headlight assembly, somersaults across the hood leaving multiple dents, flies off of my car, skids across the road like a rock skipping water, and slides down the hill on the other side of the road. Then the little bastard has the audacity to get back up and scamper away!!! You'd think that after all that, he's at least DIE and let me have some VENISON!! But NOOOOO!! So, I had to call dad and tell him that the car had been hit by a deer (and it was hit by the deer, not the other way around) and he says that he'll look for another Headlight assembly for me online.

Then, Monday evening I get a call from my parents, saying that my grandma has been in a car accident and they're heading to Alabama because she has been careflighted to Birmingham and has been put into intensive care. My 80 year old grandmother for Goddess' sake!! It was caused when an old man in the oncoming lane had a stroke and drifted over the center line, creating a head-on collision with her car. They give me a call later saying that she has a cracked sternum, a bruised heart, bruised kidney, 2 broken ribs, her left lung has collapsed, her abdomenal wall is torn, and a bit of her colon was torn as well. AND THAT WAS JUST SEAT BELT TRAUMA!!! She also has a mild concussion. They did surgery on her at midnight to repair her colon and abdomen, but there was a very possible leakage and things could get horribly infected. They still have to go in again to make sure everything was repaired, but they have to wait until the swelling goes down. On the plus side, she was cognizant of everything around her when the accident happened. She was awake and talking to the paramedics in the ambulance and the helicopter on her way to the hospital and was even able to tell them the medication she was on and how to contact her family members. For being 80, she's actually been in VERY good health over the years, and the doctors even said that if she hadn't been in such good health, she probably would not have made it this far. The prognosis is good, for her, though. It'll be a long road to recovery, but they say she should pull through completely.

And if that doesn't make things suck, I think I'm coming down with the flu, or something, but that seems so small in comparison to everything else that's been happening. They say that bad things happen in threes, so hopefully things will start getting better after this. I could really use some good things right about now. I'm just grateful to have a loving family and good friends that I can rely on. Thank goodness I have Becca and Rod especially, even though Rod's in Chillicothe right now.

On another note, Greg, I'd really appreciate it if you'd completely forget about my blog and stop posting. No, I don't want to be friends with you, No I don't want to sit down and "talk about old times". I'm at a point in my life where I'd just be happier to forget about the illusions you once led me to believe. I'm glad that you aren't quite the person you were; that means the Goddess will have one less person to SMITE. However, that does not mean I like you any more than I did a few weeks after we broke up. I'd just rather you not try to contact me any more....AT ALL! Get it through your head that I just don't want to be friends with you any more and I'm not taking you back. The sex was not good enough for that. If fact the sex really sucked. Just move on and let me get on with my life...WITHOUT YOU!!!

*sigh* Now that I've vented, I think this is a pretty good time to end this latest post. Talk to you all later!!

Katey

Happy Chrismahanakwanazaka!!!! (Even Pagans too!!)

Otay, so I get a phone call from my dad at around 10 pm on Tuesday, the 21st of Dec. He says that there's a big storm coming in and he wants me home immediately. (My original plans were to leave on X-mas eve and stay until the 27th.) So after a bit of last minute preparations and running about the house like a chicken with its head cut off, I finally get the pets loaded up and start driving at about midnight. It's a very good thing that my dear daddy watches the weather channel, because at 7 am the next morning, it begins to snow. By about noon, we have close to 4 inches. No biggie, right? Well, by 7 that evening, we have close to 12 inches. Still no biggie, this is Ohio, after all. But by the next morning, the snow had poured down on us and the wind caused huge snow drifts as well. At 10 0'clock Thursday morning, we had 3 feet of snow piled around our house. In someplaces it had drifted to 4 1/2 feet. Well, ok. So we're stuck inside for Christmas. Fine with me! I get to sit around and drink hot cocoa, right? Wrong again!! Nope, my Dad hands me a shovel and my brothers and I get to start on the driveway. lol. It seemed like a hopeless cause, until a kind person driving past with a plow attached to his pickup truck plows us out the rest of the way. It's so nice to know there are still good Samaritans out there.

So I call Rod after the shoveling the drive. The snow missed them completely, but in exchange, they got all the ice. The sleet was so strong, that it broke power lines, and the plant was forced to shut down operations. Some 400, 000 homes were without power for about 3 days because of that--Roddy bear's included.

So aside from the depressing weather, everything else was pretty good. I got the Mandolin that I wanted for Christmas. What else....? Some nice sweaters....not a lot. While I was home, Misty got some really great socialization. He was letting everyone hold him, and I even got to pet him for about an hour!

I left and came back to Nelsontucky Wednesday, the 29th. Rod and I cleaned the living room and the big gaming room. They are now spotless, and I am so much happier with them!! Now all that's left is my bedroom, for me to clean. I'm forcing Becca to clean the Kitchen and I told Scott that he had to clean the bathroom. Unfortunately, Scott's version of clean is different than mine. eeewwww.....

So, New Years day came and went. Rod, Becca and I went to visit a friend. We all played pool and watched anime and drank spiced rum. mmm.....I tell you what, you put a shot of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum in a can of Pepsi and it tastes just like Pepsi: Holiday Spice, except better! It was so yummy, I had about 3 of them. And I was so proud of Becca, she took 2 shots of rum, on her own. The first time was amusing, she coughed and hacked because she let it touch her tongue, but on the second one, she didn't cough nearly as much. LOL. I ended up getting pretty dizzy, so I finally went upstairs to chill out for a bit. Once my head cleared, we watched some more anime and then went to bed.

Other than that, nothing else has really happened. Classes started today and my first class--Horse Program Management--was cancelled because Tina is in Florida. lol. Yay for me! Oh well. That's about it. I love you all and I can't wait to see everyone. Until next time, bye!!

Katey

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://egadsnotagain.blogspot.com/2005/01/happy-chrismahanakwanazaka-even-pagans.html' title='Happy Chrismahanakwanazaka!!!! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in like, forever! Anywho....Fall quarter is over. Exams have been taken, and I'm taking a much needed break from the books. I can tell you last quarter had me just about FRIED with all the shit I had to remember. I hate taking Bill's classes(this time it was Anatomy and Physiology), but at least it's over and I don't have to deal with it anymore. I even passed it with a C, which was more than I could hope for. I felt I did so poorly on the exam, I was ready to shoot myself. It was one of those instances where you study too much and talk yourself out of the right answers....Oh well. In the words of Strongbad.....IT'S OVER!!!

Anywho, on to other things. I'm going to be leaving, lovely Nelsonville for a small portion of the holidays. I'm going home the 24-27. Why such a short time, you ask? Because I don't want to leave Lacey and Misty any longer than I have to. Especially now that I've made such a big breakthrough in the taming of Misty. He's letting me hold him now, and he's no longer biting at me!!! YAY! He's even sitting on my shoulder! *does a little happy dance*

Okay, well that's it for me, so I'll talk to you guys later. I'll probably be posting after the holidays. I was there with Becca, Roddybear, Mj, and Joshie, and technically this had been the first wiccan festival we'd been to that we hadn't set up ourselves, and let me be the one to tell you, it couldn't have been better! The spirits of our dearly departed were with us from the moment we arrived till the moment we left, and even a bit afterwards! The energy was so tangible that night! Becca loved it, and now she's considering going through the paganing ritual! I, too, have been considering it for a time, but I still want a little more knowledge before I dedicate myself to Wicca or any religion for that matter. Needless to say, I take matters of the spirit very seriously and I refuse to jump into anything.

Rod really enjoyed the ceremony as well, even though he'd never been to one. His mom is a solitary wiccan practitioner, but he'd never seen any major rituals before. We also decided that if we grow in our relationship enough to get married (which I hope we do!!) we are getting Momma to perform the handfasting ceremony. Now that was gorgeous!! And Natalie was soooo cute!

MJ, being what many would call a Christo-pagan, watched with much interest and after it was finished, she looked at me and said, "It's amazing how close this was to Catholic Mass." I laughed thinking about how the Catholics had taken so many pagan rituals and "converted them" to keep the pagan converts happy and, to say the least, interested! Of course, MJ knows this, for she has put a lot of energy into researching and studying both Paganism and Christianity, but she was a little surprised to see how close to the truth it is.

So anyway, it was beautiful, the energy was great, the food was YUMMY!! It was a really nice night and I can't wait for Yule! Well, I love you all! Merry meet, merry part, until merry meet again. AWOOOOOOO!!!!!

Samhain is Coming! HURRAH!!

Mood: Yucky
Music: Don't go/Fefe Dobson

Sorry for not posting in forever, guys. I just haven't had anything interesting go on recently. Except for maybe, that I got my dress. :D Roddy bear paid for it, and I'll be wearing it on Samhain and to the Athens block party. Which reminds me, Momma Serena or Joelness, please e-mail the directions to the shelter house to me. sailorjupitermakoto@yahoo.com Other than that, things have been going well.

I'm a bit miffed today, mainly because I feel like I'm the only one at the trailor who does anything worth while. If it weren't for me, NOTHING would be clean and everyone would be living in filth. I get up at about 11 today (that's after going back to bed at 7, because becca needed me to drive her to class--her car is out of commission for the moment) and decide I'm going to clean up in the house. After starting a load of laundry, letting Misty out to play, and walking Lacey, I decide to start with the kitchen. *shudder* There are dishes piled EVERYWHERE, trash piled around the trash can, and dirt all over the floor. So I roll up my sleeves and begin. After 4 bags of trash are hauled out to the burn barrel, I start on dishes. Let me tell you, it was not a fun job. After 3 sinkfuls of HOT soapy water and 2 1/2 hours of scrubbing, and taking the occasional break to toss clothes into the dryer and start a new load in the washer, I finally get the majority of the dishes washed, plus new shelf liners put in one of the drawers and on a couple shelves. I decide it's break time, because I'm so disgusted with the house and my housemates right now. I begin to walk away and see a puddle of water in front of the pantry. This is what I once called the "puddle of no origin" because it would show up in that spot without any trace of where it came from. But this time, I see a trail of water leading from it to the cupboard under the sink. I open the cupboard and there, on the drenched, sagging shelf beneath the pipes is a basin of water, full to the brim, and the pipes slowly dripping into it. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS WHEN I MOVED IN????? I curse at it and pick up the rancid water basin and dump it outside. I replace it on the shelf and angrily decide to take that break that I so desperately needed. I sat down to read and didn't go back into the kitchen until I decided I wanted dinner.

To make matters worse, I'd had my heart set on going with my friend Crystal to watch the eclipse tonight. Imagine my dismay when I realized that it was overcast. GRRR!!

On a lighter note, I did have a good time with Lacey and Misty today, mostly with Misty, seeing as how Lacey contented herself with laying on the floor and wagging her tail. Misty talked up a storm, whistled and sang to me. I also discovered at dinner that he likes biscuits, mashed potatos, gravy, and--wait for it--chicken! lol. In fact, when I gave it to him, he said, "Mmm, that's good." I have to go, SC is closing down!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://egadsnotagain.blogspot.com/2004/10/samhain-is-coming-hurrah.html' title='Samhain is Coming! Well, the first week of classes went okay. On mondays I have Horseshoeing I with Lance. That's such a fun class! Then on Tuesday the evil begins with Equine Anatomy and Physiology with Bill. If anyone could make Ben Stein seem exciting, it's Bill Harnetty. On Wednesdays I recuperate from the evil by having a day off. Julie and I are going horseback riding tomorrow! WHOOHOO! Then on Thursday, more evil with an uber long day. First it's primitive tools where we go out and chop wood with axes and cut down trees with cross cut saws, then I was supposed to have my Advanced Riding class. Well that ended up being cancelled because only 4 people had signed up for it, and they won't fund it unless there are at least 5. So I have to find Heath (who is like trying to find a needle in a haystack) and sign up instead for his Team Driving class. I still haven't found him and he hasn't answered my e-mails. Well, then on Fridays, I have my Horsepacking Class with Bill again, but hopefully this class will be a bit more interesting.

Other than that, I had a wonderful weekend. I went to the Renaissance Festival with Becca and Julie. OH! But it was wonderful. We spent our first few hours meandering about the booths, looking at all of the lovely jewelry and such. Then we watched a few of our friends perform their "dangerously stupid" act, in which one of the gentleman catches a knife with his crotch. lol. We tried on lovely thigh-high leather boots, then. And then we got hungry and had those wonderful bread-bowls. They now have Potato Soup....mmmm.....oh the potatos. ...potatoes?........

...suddenly my vast dictionary and internal spell check have deserted me.....deserted...desserted...ARGH!!!

Anyway, back to the Ren fair. I ended up buying a necklace vial of this lovely scented oil called "Renaissance Romance". (I can spell Renaissance, but not the plural of potato? What is this world coming to?) I also now have a cute little tail, which I have been wearing to my classes. Plus I have a sweet little shoulder dragon, whom I've named Melvin. The people who make the dragons aren't going to be there next year, so I figured this was my last chance to get one. I also tried on this gorgeous dress. OH it was SO LOVELY!!!! I'm torn between begging Rod to get it for me, or just sitting quietly and saying no. The only thing keeping me from getting it myself was the fact that it was $210. Now I love the dress, but I also love Rod, and don't want to ask him for that much. I feel so bad, but I want that dress....OH WOE IS ME!!!! Rod said that he might buy me the bodice (which alone is 135 of the cost). If he did that, Hell, I could just make the rest!

Oh, well. We're going back in 2 weeks, so we'll see. This weekend we're going to a gun show in Kentucky. Rod wants to shoot the flame thrower. lol. Other than that, I think that's all the news for now. Oh, and Momma, COUNT ME IN FOR THE POTLUCK!!! Sounds like a blast!

Talk to you later guys!

KATEY BUG

Wow, almost a month has gone by...so much has happened!

Hi guys! Sorry for not posting in a while, especially after leaving everybody with such bad news and not a word from me afterwards. Things have gotten so much nicer. For one, about a two weeks ago, I got a call at work from my friend Julie. She asks sweetly, "Katey....do you want an African Grey?" (For those who don't know what an African Grey is, it's about a $1800 parrot that is considered one of the best mimics.) Shakily, I replied with my eyes widening, "Yes...." (I've wanted one of these birds for the past 2 years.) Then she asks, "How soon can you come over?" "Tonight!" By this time my palms are sweating. She procedes to tell me that her landlady owns a Grey whom they don't have enough time for anymore. They want me to have the bird, considering I've had experience with many many parrots in the past.

I gladly agree.

Misty, the 15 year old Grey is now happily situated in my living room in his GINORMOUS cage. He talks to me all the time, whistles West Side Story, barks at my dalmatian, and told my roommate, Scott, to F*** off. I love my birdie!!

Also, I put in my two weeks at Petland last Thursday. I'm sick of Christy's bull sh** and decided I have better things to do than run around like a headless chicken all for the sake of selling overpriced puppies to ignorant people who don't know any better. I'm going to put in a resume at Abfall Vet in Athens and see if I can get a job as a Vet Assistant. If I don't get that, I'll settle for Bob Evans or something. I doubt I'll ever work in sales again. Good riddance to it!

As for other jobs, my sweet Roddy-bear has gotten a job at the Lowes in Chillicothe. He's getting paid 9.85 an hour for night stock. (I wonder if they're hiring anyone else....) After this quarter is over, he's going to try to transfer to the Athens Lowes that way he can be close to me. He's also promised to support me for a while. lol. That being said, I have only one thing to reply....I GOT ME A SUGAR DADDY!!! LMAO!! Ok, I'm better now.

Becca is also moved down to Nelsontucky completely so it's all good! Everyone's getting along well and things couldn't be better!

Well, I'm off my dears! I love you all and I'll see you all sometime. Momma, I can't wait for you to get better! I miss sitting in your shop and talking to you. I need those lovely momma vibes again! Coty, darling have fun with your new boy-toy! I wish you the best! Joel, I love you and I think you owe me some mint juleps! Prepare, for I will collect soon!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! lol. Bye guys!

THE KATEY BUG *dramatic super-hero exit theme*

Wow, almost a month has gone by...so much has happened!

Life is a freakin' rollercoaster

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life has been helter skelter for the past 2 weeks. Last monday, I woke up and Oliver, my lovebird, was dead. He had fallen off of his perch and broken his neck. Let's just say I was devastated.

If that's not enough, wednesday I was outside in the yard, walking around barefoot. There was a piece of metal in the grass that I ended up stepping on. I probably should have gone to the doctor to get stitches, but I decided that if I could get the bleeding stopped, it was no big deal. I did have to call off of work though, due to the simple fact that it hurt too much to walk around on.

After that, things started getting a little better. I'm broke, but my foot is healing, thanks to medicated bandages, and my heart is healing thanks to Rod. We'll see what happens here in the next week or so and hopefully things are better.

Love y'all and talk to you later!

Katey

Back to the Happiness!

AH! It's so nice to have things finally come together. The hot water is back on, Scott stopped smoking in the living room, I might be transferring to Athens for work, and I'm finally able to save some money! I admit, it was rough the past couple of weeks, but everything is looking up.

The trip to see my Alabama family went wonderfully! My aunt, grandma, and sister all LOVE Rod, no wonder! He's fitting in quickly and happily. Lacey got her teeth cleaned at the vet's while we were home. They had to pull one tooth, due to abcess, but she's still eating quite well. all I have to do now is get rid of her fleas, and everything will be fine with her.

I sold the baby boxer puppy on Thursday! I'm getting about $80 bucks commission on that one, I think. YAY!

Oh, and Jessi finally called Rod. Seems there was some creep that got ahold of her number and she had to get a new cell phone. She said that she'll be picking up Rod in the middle of August. Keep your fingers crossed, kids. Anywho, that's about all for this week. I'll keep updating as soon as I can. It's been too long, darling!

Hey kids!

Well, I've just had the weekend of crap, if you know what I mean. It started out so wonderfully with my excellent paycheck of $400, so I decide to splurge a little. I went out and bought Rod an XBOX game he's been wanting for a while. I get home to give it to him, and I see him on the couch, looking rather distraught. "What's wrong?" I asked. He looks at me and tells me that he heard someone messing with the wattage meter and then the electricity went out. Apparently my roommate failed to mention that he had a deposit on the electricity he had to pay and failed to pay it on time. He went to the office that day, paid it, but they informed us that they were unable to get anyone out there until monday. JOY! Now all of the food in the fridge and the freezer have gone bad after I had spent a good deal of my previous paycheck on food so that we wouldn't go hungry. Not only that, but the cable was turned on...the day the electricity was turned off. Goody gumdrops.

Well, Jessi also has not called Rod or given him the application he needs. So, he's going to try to find a new job around here for a while. He won't be able to find anything that promises the kind of pay that Jessi's job did, but at least it will be more than just promises.

On a lighter note, in the past 3 weeks I've sold 5 dogs. A cocker spaniel, a brussels griffon, a jack russel terrier, a poodle, (yes momma, our little tuxedo poodle went home) and a lab. So that's where my lovely little paycheck came from. And about a week ago, I met a pagan at work. He's a construction worker that is in the Lancaster area for a job. I broke the ice by complimenting the lovely pentacle around his neck. And then I did a little PR work for momma's shop. lol. LOVE YOU MOMMA! Hopefully I'll be able to come and see you soon. Rod and I miss you!

Well, despite being about 2 weeks since my last post, not too much has happened. I guess I'll sign off for now and talk to you guys later!

The Muffin Head

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://egadsnotagain.blogspot.com/2004/07/oh-its-been-too-long-darling.html' title='OH! Well, now that I have this blog thing under control....lol. I forgot the password to my old blogness, so I created this new blogness, cause it was taking WAAAAY too long to get the password for the old blogness sent to my email...ness...

ANYWAY!

Yay! Sold a puppy Tuesday! The little rat terrier has a new, good home! I won't be getting much commission from it, but, let's face it, that's not what I do it for. I do it for the dogs, cats, iguanas, parakeets, tarantulas...everything. They need someone who cares enough about them to take them home. Oh, and I also sent a ferret home with a lovely young couple who'd always liked them, but never really considered getting them as pets before. YAY! Mischief is on its way home!

Well, Becca came down today to move into the new place. DAMN that girl has a lot of stuff! Rod's still working on getting that job with Jessi. He called and she said that the paperwork is in the mail. If he gets the job, then he's gonna be getting close to $600/week and that's without being on a winning team. He's really excited about it.

Anywho, I think I'll skedaddle on outta here. I'm starving and I bet my black man is too. lol.

Join us again, same Katey-time, same Katey-channel!

Kate
